Lucknow: Following Priyanka  Gandhi Vadra’s house arrest on Sunday night in UP, today morning Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and Deputy CM Punjab SS Randhawa were denied landing rights in Amausi Airport Lucknow. The Lakhimpur Kheri violence incident has escalated political confrontation sources stated.

CM Baghel taking to his microblogging site posted a notice in Hindi that read- because of the law and order situation in Lakhimpur Kheri, Section 144 had been enforced in the area and therefore flights of CM Baghel and the Deputy CM Punjab were denied landing. Ms Priyanka after arriving in Uttar Pradesh last night was restricted from meeting the families of the farmers who died. Close sources from the party reported that Ms Priyanka was taken to Sitapur police lines and urged people to gather there. Congress leaders are being denied permission to visit Lucknow.

On Sunday, violence erupted in the Lakhimpur Kheri region after a group of protesting farmers tried to block the convoy of Union Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra and Deputy CM Keshav Maurya from visiting the area. Farmers claim violence erupted after the vehicle of the Union Minister ran over few protestors. With the polls ahead, the death of eight farmers amidst the violence on Sunday has snowballed into a major political clash.
