Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh: Kududand resident history sheeter Sanju Tripathi, who was also the former District General Secretary of Congress was fired several rounds by unknown people on Wednesday evening. He died on the spot after a bullet hit him during the firing. On receiving information about the incident, police officers and jawans reached the spot. The body has been sent to sawmill for postmortem. However, the shooters fled after the attack. Police is gathering information about the attackers by questioning the people present on the spot.
Sanju Tripathi, who lives in the Civil Line area, used to do land work. Many cases are registered against him in different police stations of the city including the civil line police station. In the past, his father and brother had also filed a case of assault against him. On Wednesday evening, he had gone towards Sakri bypass in his car. The unidentified assailants fired several rounds at him under the Sakri overbridge. As soon as the firing happened, there was chaos around. People started running away in fear.
The attackers had made a complete plan for the incident in advance. A car was already present at the spot. At the same time, a car was coming from behind Sanju. Sanju’s way was blocked with the help of both cars under the overbridge. After stopping Sanju’s car, the attackers quickly came out and surrounded Sanju’s car from both sides. After this, they started firing. Sanju did not get a chance to escape from this. After committing the crime, the assailants fled in their respective cars. Police have found nine kiosks on the spot. Further probe is on for the case.
