Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has given instructions for strict action against the illegal trade of drugs and narcotics in the Collector-SP Conference. He said that drug abuse encourages other crimes. For this, action should be taken by running a campaign. Along with this, instructions have been given to increase surveillance in the interstate border areas, to take action in the cases of PIT NDPS Act within the time limit. At the same time, instructions have been given to make the youth aware by running a comprehensive campaign against drug abuse.
It should be noted that a meeting of Collectors and Superintendents of Police (SPs) is underway on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. Today is the second day of the meeting. The meeting is reviewing the state’s law and order situation. Discussions are ongoing regarding the implementation of new criminal laws. A comprehensive review of the performance of the districts is also underway.
In a meeting with the Collector and Superintendent of Police, Chief Minister Sai stated that criminal cases involving women and girls should be handled with sensitivity and promptness. Furthermore, challans should be filed within the stipulated timeframe for these crimes.
Review of criminal activities related to cybercrime
The meeting is conducting a thorough review of cybercrime and related criminal activities. Chief Minister Sai stated that the methods of cybercrime change daily, so the public should be informed. Special initiatives should be taken to conduct continuous cyber awareness campaigns with inter-departmental coordination. He also stated that the cybercrime helpline number should be widely publicized. The CM also stated that five cyber police stations currently operate at the range level, and nine will soon be operational.
Home Minister Vijay Sharma, Chief Secretary Vikas Sheel, Additional Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Pingua, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Singh, Range IG, Collector, SP and other officials were present in this meeting.
