After assuming the role of Chief Minister, Vishnudeo Sai, along with his spouse Kaushalya Sai, visited their ancestral village garden for the first time. The Chief Minister and his wife reached the Turiya village near Banderchua to seek blessings from their family deity. During the visit, Chief Minister Sai offered jaggery, coconuts, betel leaves, and areca nut as a gesture of devotion, expressing wishes for the prosperity and well-being of the state.
The village priest conducted a ceremonial worship, adhering to traditional rituals, in the temple premises. Chief Minister Sai acknowledged the significance of ancestral blessings and emphasized that auspicious endeavors find fulfillment through the blessings of forebears. He pledged to continue working tirelessly for the welfare and public interest of the state, drawing inspiration from the divine blessings received in Turiya.
The construction of the temple, dedicated to the memory of Chief Minister Sai’s forefather, the late Sardar Bhagat Sai (Sardar Boodha), took place on this occasion. The temple witnessed the presence of a large number of villagers from the surrounding areas who gathered to participate in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sai recounted the heroic sacrifice of his foreuncle Bhagat Sai, who bravely faced a tiger attack in the dense jungles surrounding Turiya, ultimately sacrificing his life. The spot where the sacrifice occurred is now revered as a sacred place, and a statue of a tiger has been installed there in his memory.
Vikas Kumar Sai, a resident of Turiya village, shared that the area is encompassed by dense forests and hills. The family lineage of Chief Minister Sai traces back to two brothers, Bhagat Sai and Devel Sai. Bhagat Sai, whose life was tragically cut short by the tiger attack, is venerated with a tiger statue placed at the location of his sacrifice. The lineage continued with the descendants of Devel Sai, eventually leading to Chief Minister Vishnudeo Sai.
Apart from the Sai family, other villagers also consider Turiya as a place of profound spirituality and hold it in high regard. Surrounded by lush jungles on all sides, the significance of this divine location is evident as people passing through offer floral and leafy tributes, considering it a sacred passage on their onward journey.
