CM Vishnu Deo has sent a list of Scheduled Tribes along with the Paw caste for inclusion in the list of Scheduled Tribes. CM Vishnu Deo has sent the ethnic study report of these castes along with recommendations to the Ministry of Tribal Affairs of the Government of India for further action. If everything goes well, the years of wait will end.
Chhattisgarh’s Tribal Research and Training Institute has prepared a report after conducting an ethnographic study of Paw, Pabiya, Paviya, Paviya castes, in which it has been recommended to include these castes in the Scheduled Tribes on the basis of their characteristics.
The people of Paw, Pabiya, Paviya, Paviya caste of Chhattisgarh have been demanding for many years that they should be included in the list of Scheduled Tribes. Since this could not happen till now, their generations are facing many difficulties. After the formation of the Vishnu Dev Sai Government in the state, a hope was again awakened among the people of these castes. The CM took their demand seriously and sent a proposal to the Government of India. As soon as the people of the castes got the news of this, they reached Raipur to thank the CM.
A delegation of people from Paw, Pabiya, Paviya and Paviya castes from across the state, under the leadership of MLA Ramkumar Yadav, met Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai in the committee room of the Assembly and thanked him for this sensitive initiative.
The delegation told the Chief Minister their ST certificates were being made in 2000, but due to quantitative error, the certificates have been stopped for the last 22 years, due to which our children are not getting the benefits of the ST category. Our children are not able to progress in their studies.
