Railway passengers have suffered a setback during the festive season. More than 26 trains passing through Chhattisgarh have been cancelled. Congress got angry over this decision of the railways. Communication head Sushil Anand Shukla has called the cancellation of 26 trains between 26 and 30 August an irresponsible step by the railways. The public is getting troubled due to the cancellation of trains during Teej festival, Ganesh Chaturthi, Nuwakhai festival. Cancellation of such a large number of passenger trains is an atrocity on railway passengers. If the railways have to do maintenance, then such a time table of work should be arranged so that passenger facilities are not disrupted. According to the communication head, the country’s rail facilities have been completely ruined for the last four years. An order is issued to cancel passenger trains without giving any reason.
Hundreds of passenger trains passing through Chhattisgarh have been cancelled for months on several occasions. The reason given by the railways for cancelling the trains is maintenance. Whereas freight trains with 50 times more capacity than passenger trains are run on the same tracks. Passenger facilities in Chhattisgarh are also disrupted to the transport of coal from Chhattisgarh to other states. The BJP government’s focus is only on freight transport. A conspiracy has been hatched to tarnish the image of this reliable means of transport. Any attempt to sell the railways is a betrayal of the people of the country.
