Raipur: Following the BJP meeting that took place in Delhi, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai rejoined his home today in Raipur. The meeting was presided over by BJP’s National General Secretary, B. L. Santosh. Kiran Singh Deo, the state BJP president, was also present on the occasion with CM Sai. During the meeting, a number of organizational issues were touched on, as can be seen. There were also talks informally with regard to the cabinet and the corporation boards.
The Congress Fact-Finding Committee will visit Chhattisgarh between the 28th of June and the 1st of July. Former Union Minister Veerappa Moily is chairing the committee now, which is conducting the review in different places. Today, the team is planning to convene a meeting in Bilaspur. This meeting will be about the Bilaspur, Korba, Janjgir Champa, Raigarh, and Sarguja Seat situations. It may be recalled that the committee had some meetings with some of the leading state personalities in Raipur yesterday.
Another prominent leader is Raipur Lok Sabha MP, and the former minister Brijmohan Agrawal is also arriving in the capital today. He will be flying Indigo from New Delhi to Raipur and reach at 2:00 PM.
The major persons from Chhattisgarh have been arrested by Uttar Pradesh STF from Meerut jail and shifted to Lucknow on the charges of producing fake holograms printed on bottles of liquor that are being sold in government outlets, namely Anwar Dhebar and A. P. Tripathi. Lucknow STF has arrested both suspects and has taken them into three days of custody for questioning. Inasmuch as the interrogation was to be carried out in Lucknow, they were transferred there. The suspects were taken to police custody on the 28th, and they will have to stay there till the 30th.
One should feel complimented that very recently, the UP STF had reached Raipur and, even without letting Anwar Dhebar taste freedom outside the jail bar following his release on bail, arrested him from the jail premises itself. However, for some health issues, the STF could not take him to UP that night had they won.
