Raipur: Vishnu Deo Sai, along with Vijay Sharma, jointly paid respects to CRPF martyr Mehulbhai Nandlal Solanki after he died during a hostile clash with Naxals in Sukma and Bijapur districts. Yesterday, a soldier working in the region was killed by left-wing violent groups.

The cortege with Mehulbhai Solanki’s body went to the Mana facility in Raipur, where he was served by the 4th Battalion of the Chhattisgarh Armed Forces. It was a serious occasion as the fallen hero was honoured by high officials, other soldiers and members of the state. CM Sai and Deputy Chief Minister, along with senior officials from the paramilitary forces, paid their respects and observed a silence for the fallen jawan.

People felt many emotions as their fellow soldier gave a final salute, mourning their loss. The farewell ceremony acknowledged how much the state respects the major sacrifice made by Mehulbhai Solanki as he served.

When the tribute was finished, the martyr’s body was placed on a special aeroplane, so it could be delivered to his home state of Gujarat. The state took care of all the important preparations for the transportation, reassuring everyone that it cared for its servicemen.

Once more, this incident reminds us of the great risks police and other security personnel take to protect the country and fight insurgents. Everyone who knew Jawan Solanki is saddened by his loss and will celebrate his courage and devotion to his country. Everyone in the state shares the pain with the bereaved family and celebrates the bravery of its martyrs.
