Raipur: Before Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Chhattisgarh, a crucial meeting will be held at the CM house in Raipur. They include the chairperson, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Home Minister Vijay Sharma and senior police officials. The essence of the meeting is to revisit the directions previously received in regard to the Union Home Minister’s expected visit and to deliberate on the security measures comprehensively.
The meeting has special importance as Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to preside at a key meeting related to the Naxal problem with the Directors General of Police and the Chief Secretaries of seven states. Because this is a very sensitive visit, the CM House has been involved in consultations with top authorities regarding security arrangements for the visit.
In today’s meeting, the senior police officials are briefing the chief minister with comprehensive reports, including the security plan and the measures on the Naxal front. From the presentation point of view, the intention is to describe the major steps and measures undertaken to resolve security threats in the area. This is particularly so in light of the recent comments by the Union Home Minister, who sought to evaluate the ground situation and ensure that adequate strategies are implemented to neutralise Naxal’s operation.
Independent of security issues, the meeting is also touching many other state related issues and the talk herein is geared toward an assessment of all the requirements for the appropriate preparation of the visit by the Union Home Minister. This involves a critical assessment of the general security situation within the state in question with special regard being given to the need to incite a peaceful and secure visit.
