Raipur: Chairing an important meeting in view of the rising Swine flu cases, CM Bhupesh Baghel in a major announcement on Saturday instructed the Health Secretary of the state to equip all health care facilities with medicines and basic amenities in order to treat Swine flu patients. He has directed the heath secretary to discuss the shortcomings and accentuate on them to beat the surge. Baghel also instructed officials to check the hospitals preparedness to accomadate seasonal illness patients as well.
Over the past week health care officials have been appealing to the people to follow strict measures in case of suspecting an infection and get medical help at the earliest. The health authorities have urged people to follow protocols as doen for COVID-19. Experts have advised following precautionary measures including social distancing, wearing masks, especially in public places, and avoiding crowds as the epidemic is still affecting people’s lives.
On Friday, the Swine flu count in CG rose to 273 with 165 itself in the capital city followed by Durg, Bilaspur, Rajanandgaon and Dhamtari.
If one experiences a fever of more than 101 degrees for more than three days, sore throat, shortness of breath, running or blocked nose, or tiredness should immediately consult a doctor and get treated, they added.
