Raipur: In a telephonic conversation with the PM Modi, CM Bhupesh Baghel highlighted the issue of vaccine shortages across the state and requested the centre to supply adequate quantities.

He also requested the PM to grant permission to allow oxygen distribution in 80:20 ratio between hospitals and industries to resume production. This request came after the state registered a dip in its caseload thus reducing the oxygen demand.

Concluding their conversation, the PM assured fulfilment of both the demands of the CM, said government spokesperson.

Baghel informed PM Modi that the guidelines issued by Centre and state government timely are being implemented in Chhattisgarh strictly.

Nearly 2197 tests per 10 lakh population are being done in Chhattisgarh, against the national average of 1245.

Contact tracing has been enhanced and a continuous decline in the positivity rate is recorded. Additional teams have been deployed to monitor rural cases.

The CM also educated the PM about the bed facilities across the state. He stated that 39 labs of Chhattisgarh have the TruNat facility and 15 labs are furnished with RT-PCR test amenities.

Moreover, it is reported that six new government labs are being established for the RT-PCR test in Baloda Bazar, Durg, Dantewada, Jangir-Champa, Jashpur and Korba.
