RAIPUR: In a major development the C’Grah CM Bhupesh Baghel on Friday wrote to his Rajasthan counterpart to allot an acre of land free of cost for a hostel for students from the central state pursuing education there.
Baghel in his letter mentioned that a large number of students from Chhattisgarh stay in Kota for pursuing higher education. “For the convenience of such students from Chhattisgarh, the state government is keen to construct a hostel there, Baghel said”. He further urged that the plot should not in the vicinity of the institutes.
Kota in Rajasthan has numerous varsities worth Rs 6,000 crore. As per the statistics in 2022, nearly 2 lakh students enrolled in various coaching institutes mostly focusing on JEE and NEET in the city.
