Raipur: In an election campaign rally in Bagrekasa, Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel addressed the crowd and emphasized the significance of inclusive governance. He pointed out that Chhattisgarh, under the Congress government, hosted the National Ramayana Mahotsav for the first time, reflecting their respect for Lord Ram. Baghel mentioned that Lord Ram is like a family member to them, and their administration focuses on development rather than using religious names for political gains.
Baghel took pride in his government’s initiatives to preserve and promote the state’s culture and heritage. He highlighted their efforts in setting up statues of Lord Ram at various places, renovating cultural centers, and working for the welfare of different communities, such as the Kabirpanthi, Satnami, and Sikh communities. The Chief Minister underlined that their government prioritizes the welfare of the people and focuses on delivering free education to children from various backgrounds. Students in Chhattisgarh can pursue courses like medicine, engineering, and commerce without any fees.
He further explained that they do not exploit religious sentiments for political benefits, unlike some other parties. Baghel criticized the opposition, especially the BJP, for using religion as a political tool. He questioned the BJP’s commitment to the Ramayana and Lord Ram, suggesting that their party was more focused on political gains. In contrast, Baghel’s government focused on providing relief to the people during the COVID-19 pandemic by distributing three months’ worth of ration in advance and providing jobs through the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
The Chief Minister assured people that their government would continue to work for the welfare of all sections of society and provide subsidies on gas refills, free electricity for consumption up to 200 units, and partial relief on electricity bills up to 400 units. Furthermore, women’s self-help groups would receive loan waivers, and transport business owners would get relief from various taxes. Baghel concluded his address by highlighting his government’s dedication to providing affordable and essential services to the people of Chhattisgarh.
