Chhattisgarh: CM Baghel earlier today left for Delhi after the High Command had called for an all MLA meet today. While addressing reporters at the Raipur Airport, he quoted receiving a message from Organization Secretary KC Venugopal in context of the meeting being held today. CM Baghel along with Health minister TS Singh Deo and other members of the state party would convene Rahul Gandhi at 4 pm today. Whilst speaking at the airport, Mr Baghel played a critic for several party members who flew to Delhi uninvited.
All Congress MLA’s on Friday arrived at state in-charge PL Punia residence to convene. Earlier on Thursday, as soon as the High Command informed about the meet a large number of Congress MLA’s and 3 ministers flew to Delhi overnight. Amongst those that left included Mohan Markam, Brihaspat Singh, Chandradev Rai, Vinay Jaiswal, Gulab Kamro, Gurudayal Banjare, Purshottam Kanwar, Food Minister Amarjit Bhagat, Kunwar Nishad, Chintamani Maharaj, Bhuneshwar Baghel and Shakuntala Sahu. Additionally, Urban Administration Minister Dr Shiv Dahria and Parliamentary Secretary Vikas Upadhyay also reached Delhi on Thursday. So far 45 members of the state congress party arrived in Delhi.
It should be noted that the Chhattisgarh Congress Party has been witnessing a tussle over power in the recent days as TS Singh Deo claimed transfer of ministership. However, briefing local reporters on Thursday, Mr. Singh scraped the dialogue of overtaking power, criticizing media as purporters.
