Raipur: Former Central Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad’s advice to Priyanka Gandhi on adhering to decorum in her statements has drawn a response from Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Baghel, while addressing Prasad’s counsel, suggested that the BJP should be the one to follow the same advice given by Ravi. He noted that Sonia Gandhi, too, is the wife and daughter-in-law of former prime ministers, yet the BJP has not refrained from making derogatory remarks about her. Baghel raised questions regarding the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) actions in specific cases.
The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister questioned why the central government hadn’t sought an Interpol investigation into various matters, and why the ED had not initiated inquiries into the Nanavati and Panama cases. He also raised the issue of the ED not investigating Chief Minister Hemant Soren and questioned why the Mahadev app has not been shut down. Baghel’s comments reflect the ongoing political tensions and debates surrounding various issues.
Regarding the video tweet by the BJP titled “Vikas Ka Rocket” (Rocket of Development), Baghel humorously quipped about the promised arrival of “achhe din” (good days) and job opportunities for 2 crore people. He stated that the public relies on the Congress’s guarantee, emphasizing the party’s trustworthiness.
Additionally, in Rajasthan, Baghel commented on the ED’s activities and suggested that the BJP, distressed by Congress’s strength in the state, is trying to create disturbances. He pointed out the consistent actions by the ED and IT department during the elections, alluding to their alleged politically motivated nature.
These remarks and responses indicate the ongoing political rivalry and the use of public statements and investigations to score points in India’s dynamic political landscape.
