Raipur: CM Baghel addressed the first meeting of the State Level Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Steering Committee at his residence office on Monday to review the Sustainable Development Goals.
While addressing the gathering he said that the government links its plans and development agendas to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) adopted by the United Nations.
CM Baghel released the “State Indicator Framework” prepared by the State Planning Commission for achieving the SDGs and the “Baseline and Progress Report 2020”. The State Indicator Framework included 275 indicators earmarked for evaluation of 17 targets. District Indicator Framework based on the State Indicator Framework will also be constituted informed CM Baghel.
The Baghel administration aims to meet the SDGs through social security schemes like Public Welfare Schemes like Mid-Day Meal, Mukhyamantri Food Security Scheme, Universal Public Distribution System, Haat Bazar and Mohalla Clinic Scheme, Mahtari Jatan Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyaya, Suraji Gaon Yojana, Godhan Nyaya Yojana.
State Planning Commission’s Deputy Chairman Ajay Singh said that for better implementation of SDGs, two committees have been constituted at the state level under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary. The district level committees will be under the chairmanship of Collector.
Chhattisgarh in the recently released India Index has scored 61 points that marked the state a ‘Performer’ in the state category. It is also reported that Chhattisgarh topped the country in gender equality.
