Chief Minister Baghel Inaugurates Rivulet Work in Raigarh District

Raipur: Chief Minister Baghel on Sunday during his 2nd day of visit to Raigarh district, inaugurated the ‘Narva’ development work on Chakradharpur rivulet in Junwani village of Raigarh district.

He inspected the ongoing development works under the project.During his inspection, Pranay Mishra, the Divisional Forest Officer briefed how the rivulet functions, stating that it is 35 kilometers long and a total of 9 villages exist on the banks of the rivulet.

“Different small structures from boulders, wood, and stop dams have been built to hold the water. It will benefit the villagers”, added Mishra.

The CM reportedly suggested the officials working under the project plant fruit-bearing trees on both of the banks of the rivulet so that the villagers, as well as the animals around, get benefitted in the future.

Later on, Baghel visited the Bangursiya paddy procurement center to attend a meet and greet program with the farmers of villages around, including Barliya, Bhelvatikra, Regda, and several other villages.

He held discussions with the farmers on farming, the quantity of sold crop and amount of payment received, crop area, gunny bags, and many other farming-related issues.

“I have 20 acres and have sold 200 quintals of paddy and got Rs. 3.73 lakh, and bought a thresher using the money”, said Kedar Patel, a farmer from Bhelvatikra. Another farmer Akhan Lal said, “I have earned Rs. 12,000/- by selling 60 quintals of cow dung”.
