Raipur: Somari Markam, a resident of Alor Village Panchayat in the Kondagaon district, is little in stature but high in spirits. She has not only created a means of subsistence for herself, but she is also assisting the people in her town to earn a living. During her visit to Bastar, Somari had travelled to Jagdalpur to see Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. On her visit the dwarf star Somari was gifted a mobile phone and also struck a chance to capture a moment with the CM himself.
Somari has previously struggled to get work due to her diminutive stature. She faced financial difficulties after clearing the Higher Secondary examination. Coming from a low socio economic family, Somari strived to survive and be recognised in the society. She lives with her mother and father, and brother. The Employment Guarantee Scheme MNREGA aided the little lady to conquer her dreams. Under the scheme she began working as a service provider to employment assistant.
Somari expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister by saying that she loves her work. She is now pursuing her aim of attending college through self-study. CM Bhupesh Baghel stated that, “We are committed to a brighter future and progress of Somari.”
