Chhattisgarh: In more ‘peace buying’ optics, Congress on Saturday appointed Chhattisgarh CM Baghel as the ‘All India Congress Committee senior observer for overseeing election campaign management and coordination for Assembly elections in UP.
On Thursday, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra with party officials to decide its first list of candidates for the 2022 state elections. Ahead of the upcoming polls, Congress general Secretary was on a five-day visit to Lucknow to review and discuss the party strategies for the polls. A series of meetings were held at the party office and Kaul House in the state capital. The Pratigya Yatra was finalized after its route was discussed and the booth management strategy was also chalked out during the meetings.
The Congress had in 2017 fought the UP Polls in alliance with the Samajwadi Party. The Gandhi family had blocked only seven of the 114 contested seats with a vote share of 6.25 per cent.
