RAIPUR: In view of the scorching heat, CM Bhupesh Baghel has appealed to the people of the state to take precautions against heat stroke. All administrative-level authorities have been instructed to ensure all necessary arrangements are made to prevent heat and heat stroke.
As per the CM’s directive, a letter has been issued by the Revenue Department to all the District Collectors in the state regarding appropriate measures to be in place to prevent heat stroke.
The letter instructs the collectors to create awareness with the help of teachers, health workers, panchayat secretaries, and kotwars at the district level, tehsil, and gram panchayat on ways to tackle the heat. Nodal officers will have to be appointed at the district level to make necessary arrangements. Proper water supply has been stressed. The NGO Lions Club and Rotary Clubs have been asked to extend necessary help in providing drinking water and expanding the green cover in urban areas.
Health care and the medical department has also been addressed to take precautionary measures and provide proper treatment facilities for heat stroke. The Labour and Employment department has been ordered to reorganize their working hours during summer to avoid outdoor work leading to heat strokes.
Forest Department, Education Department, Agriculture, Food and Water Resources department amongst others have also been given directions to prevent crises due to heat.
