Raipur: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday announced the installation of a new 20 feet tall statue of BR Ambedkar at Ambedkar Chowk. He also sanctioned Rs 50 lakh each for Mangal Bhawan and the construction of an auditorium at Buddha Vihar in Devendra Nagar. Babasaheb gave utmost importance to education. Baghel said that while imbibing his policy, the government has given instructions to increase the number of seats in a class from 40 children to 50 children at Swami Atmanand English Medium School.
Baghel said his government has simplified the process of issuance of caste certificates. Chhattisgarh is the first state where a child is given a caste certificate soon after birth if parents have a caste certificate. Industries and excise minister Kawasi Lakhma, urban administration minister Dr Shiv Kumar Danarya administration minister Dr Shiv Kumar Dahariya, Chhattisgarh state mineral development corporation chairman Girish Devangan, District Co-operative Central Bank President Pankaj Sharma, Raipur mayor Aijaz Dhebar, chairman of Guru Ghasidas Sahitya and Sanskriti Akademi K.P Khande along with members of Ambedkar Ceremony Organising Committee were present on the occasion.
Speaking at the Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations, he §aid that Babasaheb Ambedkar dedicated his entire life to voicing concerns of the downtrodden and deprived sections besides Dalits. Despite facing social stigma, he pursued his higher education and worked for the upliftment of all. He added Ambedkar coined the slogan “Educate, Agitatê and Organise”.
Ambedkar gave India its strongest pillar of strength- the constitution, which promoting social, economical and political equality. If it hadn’t been for Babasaheb, society would not have been able to rise above the class division in society. Ambedkar gave us the best constitution in the world, which has given individuals the right to education, equality and work, the CM added.
