Raipur: The Baghel govt is organizing the Child Protection Month from March 4th to April 8th.
Under this program, prophylactic doses of Vitamin A will be given to children between 9 months to 5 years. Apart from this, iron and Folic acid syrup would also be administered to children between six months to five years.
As per officials from the Child and Women Development Department, a target of 26 lakh administration of Vitamin A and 28 lakh doses of iron and folic acid syrup have been set for this year. Experts have been deployed at Anganwadi centres and dedicated health centres to educate the Pregnant females in the district.
In 2021, the Child protection month was organized in the state from August 24 to September 28th. Around 5,000 Anganwadi centres in Raipur and other cities provided malnourished children with nutritious food for free. During the period, nearly 26 lakh 40 thousand children in the age group 9 months to 5 years were administered Vitamin A, and 28 lakh others were given iron and folic supplements. Apart from these children who missed their regular vaccination were also administered the doses.
