Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday announced that by July 1, 2021, the state govt would revise the dearness allowance and relief currently being provided at 12 per cent to govt servants and pensioners of the state by 5 per cent to 17 per cent. This revision in DA would benefit nearly 4 lakh Government officials and 1 lakh 25 thousand state pensioners. As a result of the hike, the total annual expenditure burden of the state government would reach Rs 1,020 crore, sources reported.
Chief Minister Baghel announced the revision after active discussions with the Chhattisgarh Employees Officials Federation delegation at his residence on Saturday. During the discussion, the Chief Minister promised to make a decision as soon as possible after reviewing the demands of arrears of DA by officials and employees. CM Baghel further announced to engage a committee, chaired by a senior secretary-level official, to review the remaining demands of the hired official.
The Chhattisgarh Employees Federation delegation met the Chief Minister under the leadership of the Federation Coordinator Kamal Verma. The members of the delegation included Apax State Secretary-General Satyendra Devangan, Chhattisgarh Ministry Employee Union Council Chairman Ramsagar Kosale, Chhattisgarh clerk class Government Employees Union Provincial Chairman Sanjay Singh, and Chhattisgarh Teachers Association Federation Provincial Chairman.
