Bastar: Mountaineer Naina Singh Dhakad from Bastar Chhattisgarh has hoisted the tricolor by climbing 6250 meters high mount Mentok Kangri. Naina hoisted the tricolor and gave the message of staying healthy by doing yoga after she achieved victory by crossing three mountains.
A team of 10 began to climb this mountain. 7 got sick near Somorori Lake in front of Karjok village (Leh Ladakh) and returned. Naina along with 2 other teammates did not give up and kept climbing. They faced bad weather, continuous snowfall for 3 days, rain, cold winds blowing at 70 to 80 km/hr speed.
On August 15, the mission wanted to move forward with the tricolor, but the weather remained bad for 3 days. The team was stuck in a tent for 3 days without food and water. Finally, on August 18, the tricolor was hoisted on Mount Mentok Kangri.
Mount Mnetok kangri is an elegant peak of 6250 meters altitude. Climbing this peak is an accomplishment in itself as it is one of the highest trekking places in the Himalayas situated in Ladakh.
