Raipur: Today, Congress is discreetly denouncing the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri. Congress leaders have gathered near Ghadi Chowk in the capital to demonstrate silently by sitting on a dharna in protest of the brutal killing of innocent farmers in Uttar Pradesh. They demand that Union State Minister for Home Affairs Ajay Misra Teni, who was involved in the killing, be fired immediately.
In a demonstration organised by the District Congress in Raipur, MLA Satyanarayan Sharma, Parliamentary Secretary Vikas Upadhyay, Mayor Ejaz Dhebar, Mahendra Chhabra, Youth Congress State President Koko Padhi, Pankaj Sharma, and Banshi Kannauje sat there since 11 AM. On dharna, MLA Satyanarayan Sharma continued chanting on the garland. The demonstrators were holding placards with protests against the incident in Uttar Pradesh written on them.
Hundreds of Congress workers in Dantewada, including State Congress President Mohan Markam and Dantewada MLA Devti Karma, demonstrated by fasting. Mohan Markam is on his way to the Danteshwari temple from Kondagaon. After arriving in Dantewada, he joined the first demonstration. The demonstrators are calling for Yogi Adityanath’s government and Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni’s removal. Congress is relentless in its pursuit of this goal. In Maharashtra, there is also a protest against the violence in Lakhimpur. A bandh has been announced by Congress, the NCP, and the Shiv Sena. The impact of which may still be seen in Maharashtra today.
