Raipur: Chhattisgarh has emerged as the new hotspot in the country. On Thursday reported highest single-day spike of 2,284 new Covid-19 cases, taking its overall tally to 37,967.

The previous biggest single-day spike of 2,269 cases was recorded on Wednesday.

730 recoveries in the last 24 hours took the total number of discharges in the State to 18,950.

16 more fatalities in the last 24 hours took the state’s death toll to 315.

There are 18,702 active Covid-19 cases in the state, said the state health department in its daily health bulletin.

The state capital Raipur saw its another single-day spike as well with 712 new cases, taking its overall tally to 13,690, including 161 deaths and 5707 discharges.

There are 7822 active cases in the city.

Till date, 6,15,568 tests have been administered in Chhattisgarh. Of which, 5,990 samples among those were tested on Thursday.
