Chhattisgarh Vidhan Sabha: An Acrimonious Parley Over Liquor Cess; BJP MLA Demands Probe

Raipur: BJP MLA Ajay Chandrakar demanded a JPC probe into spending of cess amount on liquor for the development and maintenance of other sectors. 

He splashed a series of questions in the house; demanding reasons for finances issued to Godhan Nyaya Yojana instead of Gao Development from cess of liquor. According to MLA AJAY; about 550 crore rupees have been manipulated. 

A scathing argument was initiated by Shivartan Sharma on additional duty levied on liquor. To this Agriculture Minister Ravinder Choubey said,” it is not advisable to look at the Godhan or Gauthan scheme separately. The purpose for which cess has been levied on alcohol is being spent under the same purpose.”

The leader of the opposition, Dharamlal Kaushik, reiterated the question as to how the Godhan Nyaya Yojana and the Gauthan scheme are different.
