International player Mrinal Chaubey has been given the responsibility of organizing the whole event. He explained that, as matches will be taking place nationwide, every district association has been requested to give a list of men’s and women’s teams that will be involved in the event. According to these lists, the state association will hold another review meeting where logistics and participation details shall be finalized on November 1.

Mrinal Chaubey pointed out the importance of the date, November 7, 1925, when the first hockey body in India was created. India has also won eight gold medals in hockey in the Olympic Games, the highest number owned by any country. The golden era of Indian hockey is recalled to be the 1928 to 1959, and in the 1980s and 1990s, the sport was at its downfall before it started gaining momentum in the late 1990s.
