Raipur: In order to reduce the pollution in the state, Raipur has sorted to run eco-friendly buses (E-buses) across the state. The authorities have decided to deploy 10 e-buses in the first phase. These buses are completely smoke free and would ensure the air pollution in the state comes down.
It is also reported that these buses would be deployed in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata as well.
Raipur Municipal corporation has decided to buy 50 e-buses, with the sanction of Rs 36 lakh that it received from the central government. This move would get down the high levels of pollution in the state. The buses would be purchased through JAM. The buses would be deployed in the outskirts of the city namely from Tatibandh via Ring Road to Telibandha, Tatibandh to Kabir Nagar, Raipur to Kachana, Raipur to Bhatagaon and Sejbahar. The bus would occupy nearly 34 passengers.
The authorities have asserted to install nearly 20 charging portals where the buses can be stalled for charging. On a single charge of six hours over all, the buses would run for a distance of nearly 150 to 250km.
