Raipur: The state received a positive response after CM Bhupesh Baghel deployed two IAS officers to Hyderabad and Mumbai to monitor the supply of Remdesivir. The state received around 11,000 doses from various sources in the past two days.
These ampules have been distributed among private and government hospitals. However, health experts estimate another 30,000 injections needed to combat the situation.
As per sources, 2640 Remdesivir injections were received in the state on Wednesday and 8800 on Thursday. Officer Bhoskar Vilas Sandeepan stationed in Mumbai and P. Arun Kumar in Hyderabad confirmed the dispatch of a Remdesivir batch from the pharma firms. Out of the 8000 received on Thursday, 5400 injections came from SUN Pharma and 3400 from Hetaro company.
The injections have been distributed across Durg, Rajnandgaon, Bilaspur, Dhamtari, Jagdalpur, Ambikapur, Raigad, Korba, Janjgir besides the capital. 3964 injections have also been distributed among hospitals and drug dealers in Raipur. The Red Cross Medical Store at Ambedkar Hospital had received only 100 injections.
