Raipur: Chhattisgarh set a world record as 12,28, 116 people took a pledge to protect the environment. A day before, chief minister Bhupesh Baghel appealed to the people to take oath for environmental protection, he said that it is not only a pledge but a public campaign that will set a path for Nava Chhattisgarh.

The state Environment Protection Board had set a target of five lakhs, but it has more than doubled as people shared their photos and videos after taking oath in their homes. The record is now registered in the Limca Book of World Records.

Even on the day of summer vacation, students across the state took the oath. According to Sanjaypuri Goswami, BEO of Raipur Dharsinwa development block, more than two thousand teachers and more than 10000 students and parents took the oath.
