Raipur: Chhattisgarh records a sudden surge in Dengue cases in its capital Raipur. In the past 7 days, nearly 40 cases have been reported.
Currently, Ramnagar Bana has been identified as the hotspot. So far, 50 cases have been reported from the area. The increasing dengue cases have raised concerns of the health department and the district administration. Campaigns are being launched to check dengue and create public awareness.
The collector of Raipur has instructed officials to conduct strict screening under the campaigns. Experts from the health department have been instructed to monitor the situation and observe the statistics. The state administration has also directed all private hospitals to report the arrival of dengue or malaria cases to the state health department. The Municipal Corporation has begun its disinfection program under which the Amla Level Zone is being disinfected at first.
According to the state health bulletin, nearly 300 samples are being tested per day for dengue in the Fort. The state has recorded the highest number of cases after three years now. Earlier, in 2019, 100 cases were identified, while in 2020 only 11 were detected. However, this year the state health department has registered nearly 113 cases so far.
