Raipur: The worsened covid situations in Chhattisgarh seem to rope in some positivity after a month.  On Sunday, 42,32 tests were conducted in the state and 11,825 new infected cases were reported.  These figures have ejected the state from the top 10 worst-hit states of the nation.  The state currently ranks 14th after Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Bihar. As per the data released on Sunday, Haryana and Gujrat have surpassed Chhattisgarh. 

Though the state health department reveals a spike in its recovery rate, the mortality rate still looms across the state. In the past 24 hours, 199 deaths were logged. However, these figures were lesser than those in Maharashtra, Delhi, UP and Karnataka. Difficulty in breathing is reported to be the major cause of death.

The state reported 12,358 recuperations in a single day against 11,825 new cases.  From April 25 to May 1, 93,476 people have defeated Corona in a week.  Out of 7, 44,602 people who have been found positive since the onset of corona infection in the state, 6,14, 693 patients have recovered. Out of these 4,88,988 patients have recovered in home isolation, and 1,25,705 patients have recovered after hospitalization. 

Under the third phase of vaccination, the health department inoculated 23,710 individuals on Sunday. So far 56,47,293 people have been vaccinated against the virus.
