Raipur: A 20-year-old man was arrested in Chhattisgarh on Sunday for allegedly sexually assaulting and torturing a 13-year-old girl.
“The accused had been threatening to kill her and coerced the minor to cooperate, the crime came to light on Sunday when the accused was caught committing the heinous crime by the victim’s brother, reported police officials.”
The victim’s brother filed a complaint against the accused. He has been arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act for the heinous crime. Citing the fear of death, the incident wasn’t reported, stated the minor girl.
The accused identified as Sukhdev Banjare, 20 resides in the neighbourhood of the girl in Khamtarai. Sources reveal that he was a regular guest of the family. A few months ago, the accused began to assault the girl finding her lonely at her residence.
He continued to persuade her of his dirty attempts for several months before he was caught on Sunday.
A similar incident of a 40-year-old man sexually assaulting and torturing his 18-year-old daughter came to light in Raipur. A case was registered under sections 294 (obscene acts and songs), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), and 376 (punishment for rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
