Chhattisgarh: Raipur to host its first Hybrid National Lok Adalat of the year 2021 today. The Lok Adalat would be organized virtually as well as physically for the ease of the citizens in all courts from the taluka level to the High Court through the Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority (CGSLSA) in compliance with the notice issued by the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), stated an official communication.
NALSA, on 8th July announced the conduction of Lok Adalat on 10 July in 33 State Legal Services Authorities (SLSAs) /High Court State Legal Services Authorities Committees (HCLSCs).
The Lok Adalat held at Chhattisgarh would expedite the pending cases in various courts across the state. With the appointment of special judges to hear the cases, 322 benches have been constituted and nearly 40,000 pending cases have been reported to be heard. Sources also informed that the Adalat would also take up the pre-litigation cases at the hearing today.
The First National Lok Adalat of this year was organised on April 10 in 22 states and UTs where over 9.7 lakh cases were taken up out of which 2.3 lakh cases were pre-litigation cases and more than 7.3 lakh cases were pending cases. More than 4.8 lakh cases were disposed of wherein cases worth over Rs 2440 crore were settled.
