Raipur: A speeding luxury bus toppled in Dhamtari on Sunday night.2 deaths and 11 injured have been reported. The bus belonging to Payal travels in Raipur was on its journey to Jagdalpuram, while the driver is suspected to have a nap at around 2.30 – 3 am at midnight.
The driver lost control as the bus approached Sambalpur on the National Highway and toppled on the roadside. The accident was reported by neighbouring villagers to the nearest Police Station.
The driver and the conductor were pronounced dead on spot, while the 11 injured were admitted to the district hospital. A correct count of the passengers hasn’t been revealed yet.
However, certain passengers identified as Afzal Khan, Vedanta Chaurasia, Mamata Gandhi, Mohan Lal Gandhi, Bhojraj Nirmalkar, Lapi Sharma, MD Farooq, Devaraj Matpole, Kamla Gandhi, Satyanarayan Gandhi and Devnarayan Dhindsa are under treatment. The passengers are conjectured to be residents of Raipur.
