A single bench of Justice NK Vyas of the Chhattisgarh HC heard the interim relief petition filed by suspended IPS Officer GP Singh. Earlier, on 16 July the Chhattisgarh HC had heard the writ petition filed by the suspended officer.
In his petition IPS Officer GP Singh said,” I am being completely implicated at the behest of the government and demanded a CBI enquiry in the entire case.” Senior Advocate Kishore Bhaduri is appearing for GP Singh while the prosecution is being helmed by Senior Advocate KTS Tulsi.
The Chhattisgarh government on Sunday ordered a probe of three cases registered against the suspended IPS Officer.
After being suspended on July 5th, a case of sedition was registered against GP Singh by the ACB based on the documents recovered from his residence. On 9th July, GP Singh had filed a petition in the High Court seeking an enquiry. On the 13th July, an application filed by ADG GP Singh for anticipatory bail was withdrawn in a lower court in Raipur.
It should be noted that, ACB and EOW had conducted a 3 day long raid at IPS Officer GP Singh’s residence at Raipur and 15 other locations parallelly and recovered documents that suggested disproportionate assets possessed by the officer.
