Raipur: The recently released unemployment data by the Center for Measuring Indian Economy Organization has once again raised the bar of success of the Chhattisgarh model of development. According to the data, Chhattisgarh ranks fourth among the states with the lowest unemployment in the country with 2.1 per cent. According to the data released by CMIE after studying the situation in December 2021, the unemployment rate of the country has reached 7.91 per cent in the month of December. This is the highest level in 4 months.
The unemployment rate in cities is 9.30 per cent while in rural areas is 7.28 per cent. According to CMIE data, the lowest unemployment rate in the country has been reported in Karnataka at 1.4 per cent and the highest unemployment rate in Haryana at 34.1 per cent. It is worth mentioning that 3 years ago, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, while setting the goal of inclusive development, a new model has been adopted in the state of Chhattisgarh in line with Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of ‘Gram Swarajya’, under which emphasis has been laid on increasing economic connectivity between villages and cities.
Under this model, Suraji Gaon Yojana, Narva-Garva-Ghurva-Bari program, Gordhan Nyay Yojana, Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana for economic empowerment of villages. Many innovative schemes and programs like Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumiless Krishi Mazdoor Nyay Yojana, the establishment of rural industrial parks, collection and value addition of minor forest produce, entrepreneurship development are being implemented. The economy of the state of Chhattisgarh remained untouched by the nationwide economic slowdown even during the first and second waves of Corona. Even then the unemployment rate in Chhattisgarh remained completely under control.
According to the new figures, the unemployment rate has been 3.4 per cent in Madhya Pradesh, 4.9 per cent in Uttar Pradesh, 5.8 per cent in Assam, 17.3 in Jharkhand and 16 per cent in Bihar. According to the report, in the situation of January 2021 last year, the unemployment rate in the country was 6.52 per cent in which urban unemployment was 8.1 per cent and rural unemployment was 5.81 per cent, while in the situation of December 2021, the unemployment rate in the country was 7.91 per cent in which urban unemployment was 9.3 per cent and rural unemployment was 7.91 per cent. Unemployment stood at 7.28 per cent.
