Chhattisgarh: State Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey addressing local media reporters today issued a strong objection to the remarks made by D Purandeswari, general secretary of BJP. Additionally, State Forest Minister termed it as an insult to the people of the State.
Speaking about the three-day Chintin Shivir conducted by the opposition, Choubey expressed deep displeasure over the scathing comment issued by D Purandeswari. According to him, the campaign should have been induced discussions over Nagarnar Steel Plant, the contentious farm laws and other issues that troubled the residents of the state.
D Purandeswari, general secretary of BJP Party, sparked a debate on the politics of Chhattisgarh with derogatory comments over the Baghel govt that read, “If BJP workers spit, Congress chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and his cabinet will be swept away.” A video of her surfaced widely on Social media and triggered a sharp reaction from Baghel. “She was all right when she was with Congress. She was a Junior Minister to Leader Arjun Singh. What can be said about her statement? I didn’t expect that after joining BJP, Purandeshwari’s mental state would stoop so low. If one spits in the sky it will fall back on their face.”
Purandeshwari was a Union Minister in the Congress-led UPA cabinet before switching to BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2014.
