KORBA: A joint team of Revenue department, Mineral Dept in association with the police raided two coal washeries on Thursday night. The raid was conducted acting on the instruction of Collector Sanjeev Jha.
The team headed by Tehsildar Mukesh Dewangan from Revenue Department, Naib Tehsildar Lakheshwar Sidar, Mineral Inspector Jeet Chandrakar from Mineral Department raided two locations after they received information about the illegal storage and purchase of coal, said Seema Patra SD M Korba interacting with the media.
The teams raided 10 tonnes of from the land behind Khan Dhaba of Kartla and in village Champa and about 30 tonnes in the residential premises of Virendra Singh in Champa. Apart from these officials seized documents including details about the purchase and sale of coal, payments to the labour and other transactions were handed over to the Mineral officer for scrutinization. Two coal laden vehicles and electronic weighing forks were seized.
