Chhattisgarh: In a bid to provide some succour to the hundreds of migrant workers who have reached chhattisgarh border by walking their way from various parts of the country, Chhattisgarh government has decided to make arrangements for their breakfast, meals, transportation and other types of convenience for migrant workers and labourers who are travelling to other states via Chhattisgarh. CG govt has also decided to distribute charan paduka (footwear) to all migrants in order to heal their pain, cause due to walking thousands of kilometre barefoot on this hot climate.
Apart from all these facilities chhattisgarh government has also arranged free health checkups camp services for all the migrant workers and labourers, who will reach the state borders of Chhattisgarh. On the instructions of the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, all the officials of the administration are occupied in the serving of the migrant labourers considering them, as a guest of Chhattisgarh state. On the humble appeal Chief Minister’s, some self-help organisations, social service institutions, industry and trade organizations has also came forward to contribute their part to help to the workers.
The Chhattisgarh government is not only providing free food and drinking water for the workers but they are also providing free bus services to all the workers so that they can reach their home state borders safely. So far, the Chhattisgarh government has arranged 100 buses to ensure the migrant workers from different districts who reached in the Baghanadi border of the state of Chhattisgarh, can travel safely to their home state. Most of the migrant labourers arriving at the Baghanadi border are from Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, who are going to their home state via Chhattisgarh. The state government is leaving no stone unturned to help the migrant workers.
The migrant workers including men, women and children, who walked barefooted for thousands of kilometre in the burning afternoon on the scorching road, are being welcomed by tea, breakfast and a Charan paduka(footwear) so that, it can help to reduce their unbearable pain. More or less, this arrangement has been ensured by the administration at all check-posts of the state. Free arrangements have been made by the administration so that the labourers of Chhattisgarh who are on the borders of Rangkhar, Chilfi, Korea, Surajpur, Jashpur, Ambikapur, Ramanujganj etc can reach their home district safely but also workers of other states who are returning their home via Chhattisgarh have not faced any type of trouble.
Tatibandh area located in the capital Raipur remains a confluence of migrant workers. Here, the Chhattisgarh government has done enough arrangements for thousands of migrant labourers from other states of Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh to take rest and complete their journey in two-three phases. Cg govt. has also arranged many numbers of the bus to facilitate their movement. Routes have been already fixed, through which workers are being sent without any charges.
