Chhattisgarh gradually returning on track, economic activities moderately resuming : Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel
Chhattisgarh: On Thursday, in a video conference with the media, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel shared the details of the major decisions taken in the meeting by State Cabinet on Wednesday pertaining to the further plan of action, including measures and support for all sectors of the society in the post-lockdown period.
CM Baghel said that a new scheme for encouraging crop production and to support the agricultural activities in the state will be launched.
The “Rajiv Gandhi Kisaan Nyay Yojana” will be inaugurated on May 21, on the death anniversary of Ex-Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. This is based on the registered and procured area in Kharif 2019. Under this scheme, a financial aid will be transferred into the accounts of farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer for the crops of paddy, corn and sugarcane at the rate of Rs 10,000 per acre.
An additional aid per acre will be provided to the farmers if they had received a financial aid for a particular crop last year while they decide to produce another crop this year.
For the education sector, the Cabinet decided that excellent Hindi and English medium schools would be conducted through registered societies. An important step will be taken to open at least one school in each of the district headquarters, municipal councils and municipal corporation jurisdiction. Nearly 40 such schools will be opened so as to restart the studies of the students. The Vocational Certificate Course of ITI for students will be integrated with the curriculum of 11th and 12th standard in block headquarters.
Meanwhile, a decision to notify an integrated list of Backward Classes for Chhattisgarh state has been taken.
Under Bespoke Policy of the Industrial Policies, the Government also approved a special incentive package to establish production units of bio-ethanol in Chhattisgarh.
Keeping in view the current circumstances due to lockdown and under the Food Security Act of Chhattisgarh, the distribution of chickpeas/chana dal on cards is approved by the government. The cabinet has permitted distribution of food grain stock for the beneficiaries for more than one month.
The state government has also decided to distribute refined iodized salt under PDS to APL families of the state as well. On APL ration cards, maximum two kg salt per card at Rs 10/kg will be provided from June 1. Implementation of this scheme will benefit nearly 9.04 lakh families.
Chhattisgarh Government is currently distributing free of cost refined iodized salt to 56 lakh ration card holders of the state under PDS, as per their eligibility.
Meanwhile, a proposal to sanction separate rates for loading and unloading of paddy for kharif marketing year 2019-20 has also been approved.
Keeping in view the need for immediate procurement of chickpeas, under the preventive measures being taken in state against COVID-19, proposal to procure chickpeas at proposed rates of NAFED from April to June 2020 has been approved.
The Cabinet has decided to waive off one-month tax of trucks and two-month tax of buses, to provide concession in monthly/trimester tax payable on passenger vehicles, goods vehicles, school and city buses and private service buses, and to extend the last date of tax deposit till June 30.
The proposal of survey investigation and DPR preparation of Bodhghat Multipurpose Project has also been approved by the cabinet. With some terms & conditions, the proposal to free-hold the permanent ‘patta’ land lease has also been approved.
The Cabinet has decided to impose special corona charges on sale of country and foreign liquor. In the same sequence, Rs 10 will be charged on each bottle of country liquor and 10% of retail rate of foreign liquor will be charged as special corona tax on each bottle.
Under the Mor Zameen-Mor Makaan Yojana & with a commitment to provide proper housing facilities to all the urban families in the state the government has decided to build 40 thousand additional houses. Similarly, under Mor Awas-Mor Chinhari Yojana the government will provide housing facilities at minimum rates to the tenants as well.
30% concession on government guideline rates of land transaction has been extended for the entire year which was earlier applicable till June 30.
