Raipur: Pensioners in Chhattisgarh have a reason to be happy. The state government, led by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, has approved an increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for retired officers and employees. According to an order from the Finance Department, pensioners, officers, and employees will now receive a higher dearness allowance of four percent.

This decision was made after Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel wrote a letter to his counterpart in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, requesting approval for the DA increment. The agreement between the two states is necessary for any changes in relief for pensioners, highlighting the importance of this approval.

Following Madhya Pradesh’s endorsement, Chhattisgarh announced the increased Dearness Allowance. As per the announcement, pensioners and staff in Chhattisgarh will see their Dearness Allowance rise by four percent. Basic and family pension allowances have also been increased by four percent for those receiving benefits based on the pay scale.

Starting from July 1 of this year, the revised allowance brings inflation relief to 42 percent. Additionally, those under the pay scale will experience an increase in their base pension.

The prompt response following the approval by Madhya Pradesh demonstrates the Chhattisgarh government’s dedication to addressing the worries of retired individuals, ensuring they can enjoy a comfortable life after retirement.
