RAIPUR: In a major achivement, C’grah broke its previous records on alcohol revenue as per the latest survey by the Excise department.
Chhattisgarh government has netted a total revenue of over Rs 6800 crore from liquor sale between June 2022 to 2023. The increase in the revenue from alcohol sale according to Excise Department Secretary Niranjan Das is attributed to the hike in the alcohol pricing in the financial year 2022-23. According to National health survey 2022, CG has been leading the list of alcohol consumption.
Previously, a delegation from CG was sent to Bihar to study the Bihar model of liquor prohibition and its successful implementation in the state.
The seven-member delegation, led by seven-time MLA Satyanarayan Sharma, met Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and discussed prohibition policy and implementation in that state.
