Raipur, Chhattisgarh surpassed all other Metropolitan cities of India in vaccination count as the maximum number of its citizens got vaccinated. According to a study conducted on Metropolitan Immunizations, Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur has been implicated as the leader in administering maximum vaccinations.
Chhattisgarh had received 48,000 new doses of COVAXIN out of which 9,800 doses were allotted to Raipur.
Out of the total population of 17.52 lakh in Raipur, 10.58 lakh beneficiaries have been administered the first dose accounting for 66.4 per cent and 19.82 lakh individuals have been administered both doses. As per the state health bulletin, 86% of individuals above 45 years and 28% in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated in the state.
Speaking on this achievement, Mayor Ejaz Dheybar compliments the citizens of the fort whose awareness helped the capital to overtake other Metropolitan cities of India. It is reported that Raipur has surpassed Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Out of the 42.78 crore beneficiaries vaccinated in India, 91,83,532 beneficiaries of Chhattisgarh have been administered the first dose while 21,69,304 individuals received both doses. Overall, Chhattisgarh has vaccinated 1.13 crore individuals under the national vaccination drive.
