Raipur: Chhattisgarh health department announced the implementation of new strategies for vaccination centres keeping in mind the revised guidelines issued by the centre regarding vaccination of 18-44 years age group.
As per the new strategy, targeted beneficiaries of age 45 years, Antyodaya, BPL, APL have been retained.
Nearly 2,000 vaccination centres have been set up across the state for the free vaccine campaign. Centre permitted all private hospitals in the state to administer vaccination following the pricing plan issued. With the mandatory clause of online registration being lifted, a significant increase in the vaccination aspirants is expected.
As per the state health department, on June 20th, the Department received 19,58,690 doses of vaccine from the Centre and 1,75,309 vaccine shots were procured by the state government. Overall, 21,33,999 doses of vaccine vials are available with the state health department.
So far, under the national inoculation drive 75,58,352 doses have been administered in the state. Out of these 45, 61,813 beneficiaries above 45 years received their first dose and 74,58,91 individuals received the second dose.
Amongst individuals between 18-44 years; 11,60,258 received their first dose while 28,791 were administered booster dose. Amongst the FLWs, 70 percent of the quota have received their second dose after all the doctors and nurses were converted under with the first dose.
