Chhattisgarh: CM Baghel on Tuesday welcomed the arrival of farmers to Chhattisgarh to hold a Kisan Mahapanchayat on Sept 28. While addressing a media group in Raipur whilst departing to the Utai, CM Baghel confirmed support to the farmers. He said, ‘The ongoing protest in Delhi was started by our national leader Rahul Gandhi.’ He enlisted how former Congress leader, took an initiative in Punjab and Haryana to protest against the three contentious farm laws announced by the centre and re-iterated about Kisan Mahapanchayat organized by Priyanka Gandhi in UP and Rajasthan.
The Chhattisgarh Kisan Mazdoor Mahasangh has announced to organize a Kisan Mahapanchayat on Sept 28 at the Rajim Mandi Complex. The Mahapanchayat would commemorate the 125th anniversary of Bhagat Singh and the martyrdom day of Leader Shankar Guha Niyogi in the state. The state farmer allies’ heads have invited SKM leader Rakesh Takait, Dr Darshanpal Singh, Yogendra Yadav, Medha Patkar, and Dr Sumilam from amongst the top leaders who were protesting in Delhi.
As pr information given in by sources, a meeting was held on Monday amongst members of the Kisan Pahachanyat of the state, that included leaders like Tejram Vidrohi, Gautam Bandyopadhyay, Prasanth Chandrakar, Jageshwar Jugnu Chandrakar, Shatrughan Sahu. During the meeting, the leaders discussed the strategies to organize the Mahapanchayat. It is also reported that the leaders have also convened with various farmer unions across the state and have decided to gather nearly 10,000 farmers from 100 villages.
