Chhattisgarh: CM Bhupesh Cabinet Decides to Fund Education and Well Being of Children Orphaned by COVID-19

Raipur: CM Bhupesh’s Cabinet announced financial aid to children who have been orphaned by COVID-19.  The state government has decided to launch the `Chhattisgarh Mahtari Dular Yojna’ for such children, an official release stated. 

Under the scheme, a net amount of Rs 500 per month will be funded for children from Class1 to Class 8 and Rs 1,000 per month for High School and Secondary school kids. The scheme covers students of both government as well as private schools. 

 The state government has also committed to pay for the education of children who have lost the sole earner of the family to COVID.

The CMO announced the funding on its Twitter handle, it wrote- ” the Chhattisgarh government will fund the education of children orphaned due to coronavirus infection and also the education of children who lost the only earning member in their families.” 

 In a similar feat, several other states have also announced to provide special scholarships to orphaned children due to COVID-19.
