Raipur: Chhattisgarh chief minister Bhupesh Baghel has been named as one of the star campaigners for the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections as the All India Congress Committee released a list of 40-star campaigners on Sunday.

Congress had already declared the names of its candidates for 60 seats in the 68-member assembly.

Other political heavyweights such as former AICC president Sonia Gandhi, newly elected AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, MP Rahul Gandhi and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, and Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot are also on the list of star campaigners.

Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Congress in-charge P L Punia is arriving in Raipur on October 27. He will be on Bastar’s visit from October 28 to 30. He will be attending a party’s state working committee meeting in Raipur on October 31 which will also be attended by chief minister Bhupesh Baghel. PCC chief Mohan Markam will chair the meeting.

The meeting according to party sources is aimed at streamlining the organizational activities apart from discussing strategies for the upcoming assembly elections in the state.
