Raipur: Renowned artist Amrita Barle, known for her contributions to the Bharthari and Panthi art forms, has sadly passed away. Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Mr Bhupesh Baghel, expressed his condolences on media, expressing sorrow at the loss of this nationally acclaimed artist. Amrita Barle affectionately referred to as “Didi “, played a role in promoting the Bharthari genre on a scale and was honoured with the prestigious Minimata State Alankar Samman for her exceptional artistic endeavours.
In his message, Chief Minister Baghel shared, “I have received the news of the demise of our beloved national artist Amrita Barle Didi. She not brought recognition to the Bharthari genre but also received recognition through the Minimata State Alankar Samman. Her passing leaves a void in the art world. May God grant strength to her family and loved ones during this time. May her soul find eternal peace.”
Amrita Barle had been unwell for some time and was receiving treatment in the ICU of a college. Her departure has deeply. Shocked the folk art community in our state.
Amrita Barle occupied a position in the field of Bharthari art and her noteworthy contributions were recognized by the government of Minimata through the presentation of the Minimata State Decoration Award.
